AEW Star Says They Were ‘Super Excited’ For Recent Heel Turn AEW

AEW star Skye Blue says she was “super excited” for her recent heel turn and partnership with TBS Champion Julia Hart.

On the December 16 edition of AEW Collision, Skye Blue officially aligned with TBS Champion Julia Hart to turn heel after months of teases with Julia spraying poison mist in Skye’s eyes.

Since then, the duo of Hart and Blue have worked together in getting wins and attacking other stars, such as Kris Statlander and Abadon.

Blue’s character has taken a darker turn with brand new attire and theme song to go along with the persona change.

Speaking with Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho, Skye Blue described how the storyline with House of Black was pitched to her. She said:

“I did not expect it, like, at all. I remember me and Willow were talking about just wanting to tag and wanting to just be a woman’s tag team and whatever and try to make a tag division, because there’s not a lot of woman’s tags here yet. So, we were like ‘Oh, we can do that.'”

“They presented the idea, like ‘Hey, you’re going to get misted’ and I was like, ‘Does that mean I get to be spooky?’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, have you ever been a heel?’ I was like, ‘No.'”

“I always wanted to be heel on the indies, everybody was like, ‘No, you’re too much like a cute little babyface.’ Come on, guys, I can be mean.”

Blue continued to explain that there was a period where it wasn’t clear if the heel turn would happen, saying:

“I want to challenge myself, I want to learn how to be a heel, I want to learn. I was like, I want to learn every aspect of wrestling. I want to do as much of it as I can so I was super excited.”

“And I feel like me and Julia could be a really cool tag team.  I feel like we kind of look like, not like sisters, but the blonde brunette duo and we’re both super young.”

Skye Blue last wrestled in a win over Kiera Hogan on the January 6 episode of AEW Collision.
