An AEW star has vacated their championship on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite in front of a stunned Portland, Oregon crowd.
After a successful title defense against Keith Lee (in which Lee lost due to referee stoppage when Joe had him choked out), Samoa Joe made a surprise announcement.
Getting on the microphone, Samoa Joe reported that he was vacating the ROH World Television Title that he just successfully defended.
Joe was the longest reigning ROH Television Champion at the time he vacated the championship.
He had won the title from Minoru Suzuki in April 2022.
Leaving the ROH title in the ring, he declared that he was coming for MJF for the AEW World Championship.
