AEW Stars Set For Big Tag Team Run This Summer? AEW

This week’s AEW Dynamite (June 7) saw the reformed team of JungleHOOK (‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry & HOOK) take on La Faccion Ingobernable’s Preston Vance and Dralistico in a bloody Texas tornado tag match.

While the pair have teamed twice before under the JungleHOOK name, defeating The Firm in two separate matches on Dynamite in January, they have not had a sustained run as a duo despite sporting a killer team name.

Well it seems as if this week’s contest may be a sign of more things to come for HOOK and Perry, as following their match they spoke with Lexy Nair backstage and Perry made clear this latest win was just the beginning.

Perry said:

“We are taking it to the next level.

“As of right now, the summer of JungleHOOK is upon us!”

Despite breaking off on his own last summer, Perry has found q great deal of his success in the company’s tag ranks, capturing the AEW Tag Titles alongside Luchasaurus in January 2022.

HOOK has held the FTW Championship for almost a year, however, that title is not officially recognised by AEW, so a pursuit of tag gold alongside Perry would afford the 24-year-old that opportunity.

The AEW Tag Title is of course currently held by FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler), and as announced by Tony Khan on Dynamite, the pair are set to main event the first edition of AEW Collision on June 17.

Of course, in contrast to a big run for JungleHOOK, many fans have actually predicted it could result in a heel turn by Perry.
