CM Punk Match Announced For First Ever AEW Collision AEW

Tony Khan has made his announcement on tonight’s AEW Dynamite and it was in fact a big one regarding CM Punk.

Announcing the first main event match for AEW Collision, Tony Khan shared some important news in a backstage segment.

Informing fans that the main event for the first episode of the show on Saturday, June 17 would be Switchblade Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe against the AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR and you guessed it…

CM Punk will round out the six man match to main event the debut episode.

Posting to Twitter, Dax Harwood from FTR shared a graphic in excitement, along with the caption ‘CMFTR’.

The union of CM Punk and FTR was floated as a possibility for last year’s pending ‘Summer of Punk’ that never was, after CM Punk announced last June that he had suffered a broken foot shortly after winning the AEW World Championship for the first time.

Of course his return after that was then followed by the All Out issues and another injury, postponing the CMFTR run until now.
