WWE Superstar Randy Orton is facing Edge at Backlash in what WWE is calling the greatest wrestling match ever. While it might not live up to that level of hype, rumors are circulating that it is going to be a very, very good match.
Randy Orton has often been accused of turning it off and on based on if he’s into the feud. When he turns it on, he is one of the best performers in WWE.
Prior to his match this weekend, AEW Star Dustin Rhodes had some very kind words for Orton. Rhodes took to Twitter to praise him:
2 of the absolute smoothest guys in our business, then and now. #RandyOrton #BarryWindham pic.twitter.com/KzerBvkDwW

Dustin calls Orton smooth and puts him in a category with Barry Windham. Windham is one of those guys who flys under the radar a bit for just how good he was.
Windham was a fixture in the NWA and WCW for many years. He was a member of The Four Horseman. While he was probably not “face” of the company material, he was a tremendous worker and a major reason the company succeeded in the early years.
Windham actually filled a role similar to Orton in WWE. He would feud with the top dogs and occasionally wear the top title. Comparing the two is a very good comparison.
We’ll have to see if that smoothness can translate into a great match at Backlash.
