AEW Star Wins First Championship In Five Years AEW

AEW star QT Marshall is now a champion, winning Lucha Libre AAA gold at Saturday’s (August 12) TripleMania XXXI Mexico City event.

During the show, Marshall, Pentagon Jr (Penta El Zero M), Dralistico and Texano Jr faced off in a fourway bout for the vacant AAA Latin American Championship.

Marshall ultimately picked up the win after removing Pentagon’s mask, dropping him with a low blow, and rolling the luchador up to the pinfall victory.

This win earned Marshall his first title win since his GPW Southern States Title victory in 2018, in his second ever AAA match.

You can watch Marshall’s title win below.

The AAA Latin American Championship was relinquished by Rey Fenix in July, with Fenix announcing that he’d be taking a hiatus from AAA.

Brian Cage was originally set to compete in the fourway, but was replaced by Texano Jr after he was not cleared to compete, per Hugo Savinovich on commentary.
