AEW’s Tony Khan Comments On Upcoming ‘Important Announcement’

Tony Khan has promised an important announcement on the Wednesday 22 February episode of AEW Dynamite and recently spoke about it.

The announcement for the upcoming “important announcement” was made on the February 17 episode of AEW Rampage, with no indication of what it would be.

In an interview with the Phoenix New Times, the AEW owner asked about the announcement and replied:

“Hah. Well, I can’t tell you right now, but it’s something I’m very excited about and it’s great for the company.”

He would then be asked if it was going to be an announcement for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2 and responded:

“There are a lot of exciting things in the near future for AEW. All I can say is we have an important announcement coming at this show in Phoenix.

“And it’s an exciting development for the company, and I’m excited to share it with the fans in Phoenix and all over the world.”

One thing that we do know is that the announcement isn’t an MJF appearance at the show as he is “contractually obligated to appear in Phoenix.”

Recently, Tony Khan has spent some of his time taking to Twitter in a back-and-forth with the journalist Ariel Helwani, a situation which WWE Hall of Famer Booker T considered “high school stuff.”
