Big AEW matches have been set for Sunday’s Bleacher Report special, including the Japanese Final of the AEW Women’s Championship Tournament.
Ryo Mizunami vs Yuka Sakazaki has been made to decide the winner of the Japanese wing of this AEW tournament. Mizunami defeated Aja Kong via count-out during one of Monday’s semi final matches. In the other, Sakazaki defeated Emi Sakura.
On Monday’s show, a huge six-woman tag team match was also announced. AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida will team with Mei Suruga and Rin Kadokura to battle Sakura, Veny and Maki Itoh.
Suruga, Kadokura, Sakura, Veny and Itoh all competed in the AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament.
These two matches join the Riho vs Thunder Rosa US Semi-final, being broadcast this Sunday for free on Bleacher Report. The winner of this semi-final will face the winner of Wednesday’s Nyla Rose vs Britt Baker in the US finals.
Rose beat Tay Conti and Britt Baker beat Madi Wrenkowski on Monday’s YouTube show. Baker was originally supposed to face Anna Jay, but Jay was pulled due to injury and could be out for up to a year.
The Japanese final winner will battle the US final winner on the March 3 episode of Dynamite. The winner of this match will challenge for the AEW Women’s Championship at AEW Revolution 2021.
Tony Khan has stated that he hopes this special Bleacher Report card will give the promotion more exposure in the sports community ahead of Revolution 2021 on March 7.
