AEW Star Wants Match With Young Bucks Despite ‘Personal Issues’ AEW

With FTR’s AEW contract’s still, as of now, believed to be expiring in April 2023, one of the biggest potential missed opportunities of the ‘Top Guys’ AEW run is their lack of interaction with The Young Bucks.

Of course the pair of teams did meet in the ring, with the team’s clashing at Full Gear 2020 as well as a ROH and AAA Tag-Title match on Dynamite last year.

However, with only two matches in nearly three years it goes without saying that more could have been done.

And this seems to be a sentiment shared by Dax Harwood of FTR himself, as he recently discussed The Young Bucks and a potential third, ‘rubber’ match between the teams in the future with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp.

Dax said:

“I’m in the business for the business, that’s it. If I can make friend along the way, man that’s f**king cool, and if I don’t, that’s okay too because I’m in the business for the business, and right now the biggest business I want to do is—I want there to, there should be a story between, at the very least myself and Cash (Wheeler) and The Young Bucks.

I mean there should be a real story, you know there’s a rubber match that’s got to come soon, and if personal issues can be put to the side, this can make a lot of money. That’s what I want to do, I want to make money and do good for wrestling.”

While a third match between the teams is certainly possible, as Dax alluded to there is likely still a fair amount of animosity to be dealt with between the teams.

Not only that, but as mentioned FTR’s AEW future is very much in doubt, with their crucial upcoming career vs title match against The Gunn’s likely to spell out whether they remain in AEW or make a move back to WWE.

So needless to say there’s a few factors at play regarding whether this dream third instalment becomes a reality.
