WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles has shared an update on his role with the company, noting that he’s currently wearing a number of different hats.
Following his in-ring retirement in January, AJ Styles revealed that he was staying on with WWE in a behind the scenes role.
Indicating that he would be working in talent development job, Styles has now provided more details on what he’s currently doing within the company.
Speaking on WWE Now: WrestleMania Recap, AJ Styles teased that he will be dressing smart more often. When asked if this was the last time he’d be wearing a suit, Styles responded:
“Probably not, unfortunately. I’m probably going to have to wear a suit again in certain aspects, and hopefully that’s a good thing.
“Even though I choose look over comfort, it means there’s a reason for it, and for me to put on a suit again, something special is about to happen.”

Sam Roberts then asked Styles about his future in WWE and pro-wrestling, to which the Phenomenal One responded:
“I’m wearing a couple different hats right now, we’ll see which one sticks. Things change quite often, so when I get too busy to keep all these different hats that I’m trying to wear, and I have to focus on one, I’ll let you know which one that is.
“It is recruiting, it is working with WWE ID, that’s a big part of the things I know a lot about, the independents.
“I know there’s a lot of talent like me who didn’t have a lot of money, so if we can get them a little more experience, a little bit more cash in their pockets, it’d be a big thing for them.”

AJ Styles confirming that he’s currently working with WWE ID and the recruitment team comes after his Hall of Fame speech, during which he stated that he doesn’t miss being a wrestler, and his job is to find the next Phenomenal One.
Triple H also previously indicated that Styles didn’t want to be a writer or producer, after sitting in on creative and production meetings.
Styles’ runs on the independent scene make him an ideal candidate for a recruitment or WWE ID role, with the new Hall of Famer knowing from personal experience what it takes for a wrestler with outside experience to succeed in WWE.
