AJ Styles’ new role with WWE has been confirmed off the back of his in-ring retirement at the end of January.
Styles had his retirement match against GUNTHER on January 31 at the Royal Rumble, but is staying with WWE in a behind-the-scenes role.
On his new gaming podcast – The Phenomenally Retro Podcast – Styles spoke about his new backstage WWE job.
He essentially explained that there’s “a lot of things” he’ll be doing, but the main part of it is talking to talent about ways they can improve or if there’s anything he can help them with.
He said it’ll mainly be NXT talent, but there’d be some Raw and SmackDown talent as well – and he’ll be at this coming Monday’s edition of Raw in Seattle in that capacity.
He also suggested he could work with some indie talents to potentially facilitate them getting into the WWE ID program too, seemingly in some kind of scouting role.
AJ Styles will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, with the ceremony taking place at 9pm PT at Dolby Live at Park MGM on the Friday before WrestleMania 42.
