Nathan Frazer has issued a heartfelt statement in response to the WWE departures of the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley).

Since Friday, April 24, over two dozen WWE stars have been confirmed to have been let go by the company, with notable names such as Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane and the entire Wyatt Sicks faction being released from their contracts.

Two of the most experienced names on the list of departures was Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, with the TNA legends being let go by WWE just over a year and a half after they made their debut back in October 2024.

SmackDown star Nathan Frazer, who along with his tag team partner Axiom had plenty of in-ring meetings with MCMG throughout their tenure in WWE, has now taken to Twitter to share a message of appreciation for the veteran duo.

Frazer wrote:

There genuinely aren’t even words that could articulate just how much MCMG mean to us. But I will try and do my best.

As a tag team, they are one of our biggest inspirations. That goes without even saying. But as people, as friends, as brothers, the gap they leave behind will never be filled.

Your first year on the main roster can seem pretty daunting. But when we got called up, they made us feel at home within an instant. All the laughs, the jokes, training in the ring before the show every single week… we’ve shared so many incredible moments in and out the ring. Getting to work with them multiple times has been a dream come true.

But honestly the best times has been getting to know each other on a deeper, personal level. We all just instantly clicked. When I say they adopted on us on the road, it’s not an exaggeration. Selfishly, it’s gonna really suck not seeing them every single week. But we’re so excited to see what they do next.

When it’s all said and done, we’ll look back on this past year as some of the best times of our entire life. For all you’ve done for the business, and for the impact you’ve left on left on us personally…

Thank you, MCMG.

Motor City Machine Guns Cross WWE Off Of Career Bucket List, Despite Abrupt End To Their Run

After over two decades of competing in TNA, NJPW, ROH and a wealth of independent promotions, Motor City Machine Guns arrived in WWE on the October 18, 2024 episode of SmackDown.

Just one week later Sabin and Shelley reached the mountaintop by defeating Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa for the WWE Tag Team Championships, and the pair would hold the gold for 42 days.

Despite being in the mix for the titles throughout the rest of their tenure, Shelley and Sabin’s WWE tenures sadly peaked in their second week on TV and the company appeared to be teasing splitting them up before their release on Friday.

While fans would have been hoping for a better run for MCMG, the pair can at least say that they reached WWE and won the company’s Tag Team Titles. They will also have no shortage of options as they enter free agency, whether it be a move to AEW or return to TNA or Japan.

We wish Motor City Machine Guns all the best in whatever they decide to do next.
