WWE’s AJ Styles Responds To ‘One More Match’ Chants, Says He Doesn’t Miss Wrestling WWE

New WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles responded to chants for one more match during his induction speech, answering whether he misses wrestling.

With AJ Styles retiring after losing to GUNTHER at January’s Royal Rumble event, the Phenomenal One was officially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during the April 17 ceremony.

During his speech, AJ Styles pondered as to whether he misses wrestling, leading to a “one more match” chant breaking out in the crowd in attendance.

Styles directly addressed this chant, responding:

“You see, when you do that, that makes it very complicated, because I really enjoyed being AJ Styles.

“I loved everything about it, the ring, the ropes, diving over the top rope, jumping off the top rope, taking huge bumps, I loved it. I really did, I loved everything about it.”

Styles later revisited his initial question, explaining why he doesn’t miss being a wrestler, noting:

“To answer the question do I miss wrestling? This is going to surprise you a little bit, the answer is no, because I’m lucky enough to go home to my family every night.

“I don’t have to miss any more birthdays, or important games, I don’t have to miss that anymore.”

He went on to reference his current role with the company, stating:

“I guess, at the end of the day, I don’t really have to be away from wrestling. I don’t have to be The Phenomenal AJ Styles anymore, but the job that I get within the WWE, the opportunity that I have here in WWE to stay with this company and be part of this family, my job is to find the next Phenomenal One.”

AJ Styles currently has a talent development role with WWE, following his in-ring retirement.

Triple H recently indicated that Styles didn’t want to be a writer or producer, after sitting in on creative and production meetings.

Whether or not he ever makes a one-off in-ring return in the future, it wouldn’t be unprecedented for Styles to make occasional on-screen appearances for WWE moving forward, like John Cena, who will be hosting WrestleMania 42 following his own retirement in December.
