AEW/WWE
Major news has landed that Paige (Saraya) has signed a new contract to return to WWE and is set to return at WrestleMania 42.
She is reportedly expected to replace Nikki Bella who has been ruled out of the Women’s Tag Team Championship four-way due to injury.
The news comes courtesy of PWInsider, which reports that while WWE has gone to lengths to hide Paige and keep her return a secret, she was seen at rehearsals for the match.
Paige left WWE in 2022 after being with the company since 2011, having been ruled out of in-ring action since 2018 due to a neck injury.
However, signing with AEW later in 2022, she was cleared to return to the ring and had a run that included an AEW Women’s World Championship win at Wembley Stadium.
Since her AEW departure in 2025, Paige has made it no secret that she has been open to a WWE return, and it has always seemed like a question of ‘when’ it would happen, not ‘if.’
Paige joins a list including AJ Lee and the Bella Twins themselves as names from the Divas era making a return into the current day women’s division.
She is a fitting new partner for Brie Bella following amid the unfortunate circumstances of Nikki Bella not being cleared to compete.
WWE Future Plans For Paige After Return
After her return at WrestleMania 42, there are plenty of exciting directions WWE could go with the returning former Divas Champion Paige.
She has history with multiple names on the roster, including the Bella Twins and AJ Lee from her earlier days, but also later in her WWE career when she was the manager of the Kabuki Warriors, who have been having issues with IYO SKY of late.
It is great news that she will be an active wrestler once again this time around, setting up so many dream matches from different eras with the likes of Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, and even NXT talenbt who haven’t been called up yet like Sol Ruca.
