Andrade El Idolo Addresses Recent Homages To Charlotte & Ric Flair AEW

AEW star Andrade El Idolo has commented on his recent homages to WWE star Charlotte Flair and her father Ric Flair.

During the debut (June 17) edition of Collision, Andrade defeated Buddy Matthews in an exciting bout, forcing Matthews to submit with his wife Charlotte’s Figure-8 Leg Lock.

Ric Flair was extremely impressed by this bout, calling his son-in-law Andrade a ‘top 10’ performer.

Charlotte Flair included a tribute to Andrade in her match on this week’s (June 23) edition of SmackDown, doing his ‘tranquilo’ pose.

The next night on Collision, Andrade attempted to perform the Figure-8 Leg Lock on Brody King, before he was attacked by Buddy Matthews.

Ric Flair was a huge fan of this match too, taking to Twitter to praise Andrade, writing:

Two Weeks In A Row… Killed It!!!

Andrade replied to this post with photos of him and Charlotte both doing the Figure-8, and both doing the tranquilo taunt.

Believing that these homages are important, Andrade tweeted:

Thank you Sir !! we have to leave a good legacy!!!!@MsCharlotteWWE

You left us an important commitment!!! @RicFlairNatrBoy

Charlotte’s Figure-8 Leg Lock is notably a variation of her father’s Figure-4 Leg Lock submission.

Flair is set to challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship on next week’s (June 30) edition of SmackDown.

Asuka originally won the Raw Women’s Title from Bianca Belair at Night of Champions, but that title was replaced earlier this month.
