Asuka vs. Becky Lynch Announced For Royal Rumble

Well this is a surprise. Asuka’s opponent for Royal Rumble has been revealed as the woman she took the title off at TLC, Becky Lynch.

Now, in terms of position on the roster, this is not a surprising match at all as Becky is easily the most over person in the company at the moment and fans want to see her in the title scene, but for future story lines, it’s a bit confusing.

All rumours suggest that we will be getting Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, and so the easiest way to make the match would to have Becky win the Royal Rumble match and then challenge Ronda.

But to do that she would have to pull double duty and appear in both matches, which of course people have done in the past, but you would assume that would mean she would lose to Asuka before appearing in the Rumble.

Booking Becky to win the Rumble would probably be the best thing WWE can do right now. To have her win arguably the most loved of all matches of the year would be a sure fire way to get some fans on their side who may not have the most faith in them at the moment.
