It was recently reported that John Laurinaitis had resumed his role as the Head of Talent Relations for WWE.
Many people who have worked for WWE over the years have spoken out negatively against Laurinaitis as he was not particularly popular in his role. Now, a new report from Fightful Select (subscription required) has stated that there is concern backstage with Laurinaitis returning to his post.
The report states that John Laurinaitis was insistent on embracing “Diva” style performers during his tenure in WWE. Being one of the men in charge of WWE’s hiring practices meant that he had a large hand to play in the treatment of WWE’s women’s division for a long time. The report notes that several wrestlers are concerned that this hiring practice will resume with Laurinaitis once again in charge.
John Laurinaitis left the role of Head of Talent Relations back in 2011. He was used as an on-screen authority figure until 2012 when he left the company. He has more recently been back working as a producer before returning to his original role.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
