It was reported this week that John Laurinaitis had resumed his old position as the Head of Talent Relations for WWE. He will be taking over many of the duties that were held by Mark Carrano.
Now, a new report from Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided more details on the backstage feelings towards Carrano.
It has been well-documented that the role of Head of Talent Relations is a thankless job in WWE. However, this report states that Carrano was not popular amongst several wrestlers backstage. Several WWE stars told Fightful that Mark Carrano was easy to work with on the surface but hard to trust.
This was reportedly highlighted by the mass-releases that took place in April 2020, which have come to be known as Black Wednesday. Carrano was said to have made long-term promises to several wrestlers who were released. This has also reportedly eroded a lot of the trust within WWE in general.
The report also mentioned how there is concern among some wrestlers backstage about Laurinaitis returning to his former post. You can read more about that report here.
