Backstage Reaction, Future Plans For Dominik Mysterio & Judgment Day In NXT Revealed WWE

Following Dominik Mysterio’s match on this past Tuesday’s July 18 episode of NXT, an update has emerged on the reaction and plans going forward.

Thanks to help from the rest of Judgment Day, particularly Rhea Ripley, Mysterio beat Wes Lee to win the NXT North American Championship.

The show overall drew 746,000 viewers, which is a big increase on NXT’s usual numbers, and the Mysterio match peaked at 844,000, which again, is an excellent number.

So the ratings signified the move was a success, and according to PWInsider Elite (via WrestlePurists), WWE recognizes that and is “thrilled” with how Judgment Day on NXT has been going.

Mysterio’s NXT North American Championship is now expected to feature on Raw, and as things stand, there are plans for more Judgment Day involvement on NXT.

Those plans are for “at least the next month, possibly longer” for the members of Judgment Day to appear “regularly” on NXT, even going beyond the Great American Bash event on July 30.

It’s currently unknown what the plans are for Mysterio at the Bash if there are any, as the originally planned North American Championship match would have been Lee defending against Mustafa Ali.

Dave Meltzer also pointed out WWE’s reaction on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying: “I heard from a couple of people in WWE today – boy were they happy about those ratings this week”.

We’ll keep you posted with any more updates, but as things stand, WWE is very happy with how things are going and expect to see the Judgment Day on NXT more often for at least the next few weeks.
