On June 7, 2015 the late, great ‘American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes tweeted out his belief that Becky Lynch was going to be a modern day great, going so far as to proclaim she would be “top 5 of [the] last 5 years”. This was Dusty’s last tweet – he died just four days later – giving his words even more poignancy.
With Lynch set to headline WrestleMania on Sunday, ending a 34-year run of men dominating the WWE main event picture, Lynch has responded to her late NXT mentor:

Dusty’s son Cody was quick to give Lynch is own endorsement, telling Lynch to “go get it” in response to her tweet.
The situation was not appropriate for Lynch – whose world class Twitter game is unmatched – to respond in the biting way she would to someone like Ronda Rousey or Charlotte Flair, but she did still manage to get tongues wagging with her response:

As if it needs clarification, Becky is of course referring to AEW, a banned word in WWE circles for obvious reasons. Oh, that rebel!
In all seriousness, this is a heart-warming exchange between two of the most influential people in modern wrestling and it is nice to see that despite being top dogs for their respective rival companies, both are able to remain class acts above all of the politics.
