WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has shared his thoughts on John Cena’s upcoming retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.
On December 13, Cena will face GUNTHER in the 17-time world champion’s final match.
The choice of opponent for Cena has been hot topic ever since his was retirement tour was announced, and it’s GUNTHER who’s been given that spot.
On his Hall of Fame show, Booker T has given his thoughts on GUNTHER being the final WWE opponent for Cena, saying:
“I think it’s the ultimate test for John Cena, to go out there and take on the guy that’s really staking his claim to what’s going on in today’s wrestling, and that’s GUNTHER.
“Nobody goes out and does it like that guy. He makes it so real, so intense, so right there in your face. There’s no air in between what GUNTHER does, as far as the camera and watching, it’s as real as it possibly can be. It’s almost like Brock Lesnar in a sense.
“It’s gonna be the ultimate test for John Cena to go out there and show this young guy how good the old guy still is.
“John Cena still has a little left in the tank. He may not be as great as he once was, but he still can be great once. I’m looking forward to seeing exactly how this thing plays out.”

In Cena’s last PLE match – when he faced Dominik Mysterio at WWE Survivor Series – Roxanne Perez in Mysterio’s corner hit her Pop Rox finisher on Cena.
Booker T, who had a major hand in training Perez at Reality of Wrestling, commented on that moment, saying:
“It’s a memory, man. It’s a moment for Roxanne more importantly. But it shows you where John Cena’s head is. He sees the talent in Roxanne Perez, and to be able to shine her, give her a little bit of shine…
“It was small, but in the big picture, in the grand scheme of things, it was huge, it was so huge. So for me, it just let me know where John Cena’s head is and what he’s thinking about on his way out.
“And I don’t really think John Cena’s on his way out, I just think this is an exit path of his wrestling career, but this dude has so much more to give to this business, he really does.”
