Brandi Rhodes Reacts To Cody Rhodes WWE Backlash 2023 Main Event

Brandi Rhodes Reacts To Cody Rhodes WWE Backlash 2023 Main Event Bare Magazine/WWE

Despite WWE touting a double main event for Backlash, the honor of closing the show ended up going to Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar.

The match was, as expected, a brutal encounter, however, it ended up going further than usual for a modern WWE match when Brock Lesnar would be busted open after being sent into the exposed turnbuckle.

As known from Cody’s time in AEW, he is no stranger to bloody encounters inside the squared-circle, however, for once it was not him sporting a crimson mask, something that his wife Brandi Rhodes was keen to point out on Twitter.

Brandi tweeted proudly following the match:

“My husband is covered in blood and it’s not his. Praise Him”

WWE’s usual strategy with inadvertent bleeding is to stop matches whilst the referee attends to the affected individual, however as seen in last night’s encounter the action was allowed to continue, with Lesnar only getting cleaned up after the bell.

After being manhandled for much of the match Cody would ultimately defeat Lesnar with a cradle pin whilst in the kimura lock submission hold.

Despite the loss Brock was a Puerto Rico favorite, with ‘the beast’ receiving a surprising ovation following the show going off the air, click here to find out more.
