Brie Bella & Medical Team Told Bryan Danielson ‘No’ To A UFC Fight Years Ago? AEW

A new interview has revealed that Brie Bella and a medical team told AEW star Bryan Danielson “no” to a UFC fight years ago.

2023 has been an up and down year for Bryan Danielson. Starting the year battling his way to an Iron Man Match with MJF, “The American Dragon” has been on the shelf off-and-on thanks to injuries.

Danielson has long been proficient in grappling and a fan of mixed martial arts, but his wife Brie Bella has now revealed he had the desire to step inside the Octagon and fight in the UFC.

In a new interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Brie Garcia, formerly known as Bella in WWE, revealed that Danielson was into the idea before she and a medical team turned it down. She said:

“No. He really wanted to years ago and I said no. My husband is incredible at grappling training.”

“I mean, he’s worked with some of the UFC guys, but when you have a husband who’s had a lot of concussions, that’s the last place you want to see him,”

“Doctors, too. The whole medical team. All of us were like, ‘Bryan, it sounds great, but…'”

“For me, as a wife, I look at longevity. Bryan and I are coming up to our 10-year wedding anniversary, and I know we’re going to have 20-30 more years. So, for me, it’s his health in the long run, not the short term.”

Bryan Danielson is set to make his return from a broken orbital bone injury when he competes in the AEW Continental Classic tournament.

Danielson will be part of the Blue League of the tournament and will kick off his league matches against Eddie Kingston on the December 2 episode of AEW Collision.
