Brie Bella Status Update After WWE SummerSlam 2026 Injury

An update has emerged on the status of Brie Bella after she suffered a shoulder injury at WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One.

The first night of WWE SummerSlam 2026 weekend saw a six-woman tag team match pitting The Bella Twins & Paige vs. Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, with the latter coming out of Minneapolis with the win.

While the big headline coming out of the match was initially Nikki & Brie Bella’s heel turn on Paige after the bell, an unfortunate update emerged during the WWE SummerSlam post-show, when Triple H confirmed that Brie had suffered a shoulder injury.

Although there was no official medical update on Brie, WWE’s Chief Content Officer said the injury appeared to be “pretty bad.”

Now, one day later, Brie’s sister Nikki Bella has provided the latest on Brie’s condition whilst speaking with Busted Open Radio.

Nikki said:

“She’s doing ok. She’s in a lot of pain. They’re still determining what’s going on and Brie will share that whenever (they have more information).

The Bella Twins’ WWE Momentum Derailed Once Again

For the second time this year, The Bella Twins’ legs have been cut out from underneath them due to injury.

With Nikki Bella suffering a broken ankle one month prior to what seemed set to be The Bella Twins’ first WWE Women’s Tag Team Title win at WrestleMania 42, Brie has now been sidelined in what was her twin sister’s first match back from that injury.

Adding to the misfortune is that The Bella Twins have returned to their natural role as heels, and a feud with Paige would have been one that many fans of the ‘Divas Era’ would have no doubt appreciated.

Thankfully Nikki and Paige can continue as a singles feud, but any hopes that we could see a WrestleMania 31 rematch between The Bella Twins and AJ Lee and Paige may have to wait a while.

Nikki’s recent outline of her intentions to retire from the ring at the end of 2027 make a setback such as this all the more unfortunate. Hopefully Brie’s injury will not be as serious as feared and we can perhaps get that match with AJ and Paige, as well as the long overdue Bella Twins Women’s Tag Team Title run before too long.
