Former WWE Writer Recalls Brock Lesnar Changing WrestleMania Match Order WWE

Former WWE creative team member Dave Schilling has explained why Brock Lesnar wrestled in the opening match at WrestleMania 35.

At the 2019 event, Lesnar and Paul Heyman kicked off the show, with Heyman stating that if Lesnar wasn’t going to go on last, he wanted his match with Seth Rollins to go on first.

After a short brawl, Seth Rollins got the upperhand and pinned Lesnar to win the Universal Title in an exciting series of events.

During his watchthrough of WrestleMania 35, Dave Schilling took to Twitter to note that Lesnar vs Rollins was originally slated for the co-main event spot.

Explaining why Lesnar had their match moved down the card, Schilling said:

Brock and Seth was supposed to semi-main and last minute Brock changed it to the opener so he could go home early.

That pushed Lashley and Finn to a spot when the crowd was flatter than a plate full of piss.

Following a report that Brock Lesnar left this Monday’s (March 13) edition of Raw early, an update has provided more backstage details on the situation, which you can read right here.

The Beast is scheduled to face Omos at WrestleMania 39 in April.
