Bronson Reed Addresses WWE Main Roster Rumours

Former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed has addressed rumours that he could be heading to the WWE main roster soon.

Reed has been one of several NXT talents to have competed in dark matches for WWE management to watch ahead of potential call-ups.

Names that have already been called up after having these ‘tryout’ matches are Karrion Kross, Shotzi, Tegan Nox and Toni Storm, so it seems likely that Reed won’t be too far away himself.

When he dropped the North American Title to Isaiah Scott very shortly after winning it from Johnny Gargano, it seemed like that was another big sign he was heading to Raw or SmackDown.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Bronson Reed himself addressed the potential brand switch, saying:

“For the time being I am still in NXT and I love being in NXT. And when I lost that belt I knew straight away that everyone on Twitter and Instagram; I knew that was gonna be what everyone thought because I am like, ‘Okay that makes sense that’s what people think’. But it is something that I look forward to doing. I look forward to doing more with NXT but at the same time, as a kid growing up as such a big fan, I wanna be on Royal Rumble, I wanna be on SummerSlam, I wanna have my WrestleMania moment. So to be able to do that you have to be on a Raw or SmackDown.”

For now, Reed is still in NXT and he has a match against Adam Cole on tonight’s show, which airs on Syfy instead of the USA Network due to the Olympics.

Speaking about the match with Cole, Reed said:

“This is a match that I think, not only myself, but I think the fans want it as well. When it was announced there was a big buzz online. We brushed shoulders backstage before but we’ve never done it in the ring. So it’s definitely a clash of styles, myself and Adam Cole wrestle very differently. And he’s seen as NXT’s top star, I believe he is the #1 guy for NXT and for me to be there with him means that I am up there with him. I am that main event caliber, but to beat him would definitely cement me as one of NXT’s best.”

WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of the show tonight as always.
