There was seemingly a major status update on where WWE fans will be able to see Carmelo Hayes after tonight’s NXT.
A big main event match between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in a steel cage closed the show on April 16.
After the show went off the air however, Hayes had a moment with the NXT live crowd.
In a much less heartwarming potential farewell than last week’s departure of Bron Breakker from the Performance Center, Carmelo Hayes wasn’t going out without some spice.
After he lost the match to Williams and the show was off the air, the live crowd at the Performance Center were chanting ‘Thank you Melo’ as Hayes was still in the ring.
However when he rose to exit the cage, instead of thanking them, he essentially gave the crowd the finger instead, doing numerous hand gestures all to signify that he didn’t care about them.
The attempted sendoff from the crowd is due to the belief that Hayes is heading to the main roster in the WWE Draft.
Much like Breakker last week, tonight’s loss to Trick Williams was likely Hayes’ last match as a full-time member of the NXT roster.
The draft takes place on April 26 and 29, with NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov expected to be called up as well.
On next week’s first night of NXT Spring Breakin’, Dragunov will put his NXT Championship on the line against Trick Williams.
Elsewhere announced for next week’s show, a triple threat for the NXT Women’s Championship between champ Roxanne Perez, Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley.
