Big Change For Future WWE Events Revealed? WWE

An update has emerged on discussions about changing the typical arena setups for certain shows on the WWE calendar.

A number of recent WWE shows have broken records, with the June 30 edition of SmackDown in London touted as the highest-grossing SmackDown taping in WWE history.

Following the recent (July 7) edition of SmackDown in Madison Square Garden, which itself was touted as the highest-grossing WWE event in that arena, it was reported that WWE is considering having a smaller stage for the next Madison Square Garden event to increase the capacity for the event.

Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been discussions about using smaller stages for several more arenas, where advances on tickets are strong.

Meltzer wrote:

There is at least talk of doing a smaller stage at some arenas or TVs where the advance is strong.

It was never really talked about because the 12,000 to 13,000 max at the major arenas with the current staging was more than they were selling except for PPV shows.

But now, there are many shows where they can sell more than 15,000 like they did in San Juan and London and could have probably done in MSG.

A big chapter of the Bloodline saga took place on SmackDown.

On the show, Jey Uso and Paul Heyman got physical, with the Special Counsel dropped with a superkick.
