A record night for WWE as SmackDown came to fans live from New York City’s acclaimed Madison Square Garden arena.
Called ‘The World’s Most Famous Arena,’ Madison Square Garden boasted a big night for WWE with notable moments throughout, as well as recapping the shared history of the company and the building.
After the show, WWE tweeted:
THANK YOU @WWEUniverse! 💪
☝ Highest Grossing @WWE Event EVER at @TheGarden
☝ Highest Grossing Domestic #Smackdown in WWE History
With WWE highly popular over recent months, the company continues to sell out shows and Madison Square Garden tonight was no different.
WWE’s next premium live event, SummerSlam will come to fans live from Detroit, Michigan on August 5, 2023.
On tonight’s WWE SmackDown, there was an emotional segment with the Trial of Roman Reigns that seems to have cemented Reigns’ match for SummerSlam.
Later in the show, a recent NXT call up made their big in-ring debut against a legendary opponent who just happened to make his debut at MSG some twenty five years ago.
