The new number one contender for Christian Cage’s TNT Championship on the October 14 edition of AEW Collision has been revealed.
AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday kicked off with a first time ever matchup as Bryan Danielson faced Swerve Strickland to determine the number one contender for Christian Cage’s TNT Championship.
The two men had a very evenly matched contest that saw several reversals and shifts of momentum.
While Danielson attacked the arm of Strickland, Swerve focused his attack on the ribs of Bryan that gave him control for a portion of this bout.
Just when Swerve was on the ropes, Prince Nana looked to give him an assist when he removed his crown for Strickland to use in a similar fashion that he did at AEW WrestleDream.
However, Swerve’s WrestleDream opponent, Hangman Adam Page came out to interject and snatch the crown out of his rival’s hands.
This led to Danielson hitting the Busaiku Knee to beat Swerve and move on to face Christian Cage for the TNT Championship this Saturday on the October 14 episode of AEW Collision.
As previously mentioned, a big change transpired to the card for AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday on the Buy In pre-show.
