Details of the reaction in the WWE Raw locker room to the presence of CM Punk last night have been revealed.
CM Punk is back and appeared inside the ring for the first time in almost ten years on last night’s November 27 Raw.
To close out the show, Punk spoke to the fans for the first time, saying that he’s home.
The segment from the show can be seen below this news story and came on an episode in which Seth Rollins refer to Punk as a “hypocrite”.
Dave Meltzer had addressed the atmosphere backstage at WWE Raw, noting that there was “no major negativity”.
Wade Keller of PW Torch has provided further insight on Punk’s backstage behavior and how it is being seen by the WWE locker room.
According to Keller, Punk’s assertion during his promo that ‘everybody back there is happy to see me’ and it was ‘like a family reunion’ backstage was “absolutely accurate.”
Keller would go on to state that “according to multiple accounts”, CM Punk was described as “very nice”, “humble” and “in a good mood” backstage at Raw.
It would also be noted by one source that “he knew he kinda had to be” given his reputation.
An unnamed wrestler would be more guarded in their response, saying that Punk:
“Seemed pretty positive all around, but we’ll see in a couple months if it sticks.”
This was a sentiment that was echoed in other sources, with a wrestler answering “yes” to whether people are skeptical of Punk’s upbeat attitude.
The source would estimate that “half of wrestlers are iffy about whether this is sustainable or who he actually is.”
It was recently reported that some WWE talent want to speak to higher-ups to get assurances about CM Punk.
After the show, Punk posted his own message about things in the locker room – read more about that at this link.
