Cody Rhodes Visits WWE Warehouse And Teases Old Promo With Photo WWE

Cody Rhodes has been pictured walking through WWE’s warehouse, and he took his time to look at one prop in particular with which he has a history.

Before Triple H took over WWE’s creative, he was commonly referred to as ‘The Game’ or the ‘King of Kings’. One prop from his time in the latter gimmick included his stone throne.

Cody Rhodes smashed a sledgehammer (another item in Triple H’s arsenal) through a throne ahead of his AEW debut match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in 2019.

On a visit to WWE’s warehouse, Cody Rhodes shared a picture of himself standing in front of Triple H’s throne complete with a sledgehammer, simply saying “I enjoyed today.”

The symbolism of The American Nightmare smashing through Triple H’s was seen as a reaction to Rhodes’ past with WWE, where he grew creatively unsatisfied and felt overlooked while undertaking gimmicks such as “Dashing” Cody Rhodes and Stardust.

Rhodes of course famously returned to WWE on night one of WrestleMania 38 on April 2, 2022, where he was revealed to be Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent.

Cody is currently recovering from a torn right pectoral tendon and is expected to make a full recovery, however, a date for his return is yet to be revealed.

His late match was during Hell in the Cell on June 5 where he faced Rollins again, with the effect on his injury plain to see.

His visit to the WWE warehouse, and the significance of the picture, will not be lost on fans who are waiting patiently for Rhodes to return.

The picture may signify a future on-screen angle between Rhodes and Triple H.

A lot has obviously changed in the short time since Rhodes’ last match at Hell in the Cell on June 5. Vince McMahon, who originally booked Cody Rhodes as Rollins’ mystery opponent, has retired, while Triple H has been at the helm as Chief Content Officer since September 6, 2022.
