A Dark Side of the Ring composer believes the upcoming episode on a WWE legend will cause “shockwaves.”
On May 30, Dark Side of the Ring premiered their fourth season on VICE TV with an episode on former WWE stars Chris Candido and Tammy Sytch. Later this season, there will be an episode focused on the life and career of WWE legend Marty Jannetty.
Speaking with Steve Fall on Wrestling News’ “Ten Count” podcast, Dark Side’s composer Andrew Gordon MacPherson discussed the upcoming episode on Jannetty and gave viewers a taste of what to expect. He said:
“I’ve only seen a rudimentary version of the Marty Jannetty episode. I haven’t seen it with reenactments. I haven’t seen the final version, but they spend a good deal of time with Marty in the episode and his close friends and people who have known him for a long time.”
“You get a very intimate portrait of who Marty is then and now and what sort of others think of some of his controversy, then and now. It’s going to send some shockwaves, through.”
Marty Jannetty has become a controversial figure in the wrestling world with several headlines over the past few years, including the former Rocker confessing to murdering someone when he was 13 years old in 2020.
The Dark Side of the Ring episode on Jannetty will air on August 8, 2023. The show airs on VICE TV on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
