After appearing in the 2019 men’s Royal Rumble match, Dolph Ziggler was not seen on WWE TV until the end of May when he appeared on Smackdown to brutally attack Kofi Kingston, setting up a WWE Championship feud between the two.
The return to used to set up a match a WWE Super ShowDown. It was believed that with Kofi Kingston’s rival Kevin Owens refusing to travel to Saudi Arabia, the Dolph Ziggler match would be a one-off, allowing Kingston and Owens to feud once again.
However, Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens clashed once again at WWE Stomping Grounds inside a Steel Cage, and there are no signs of the former World Heavyweight Champion stepping away from the ring anytime soon.
Speaking to the Saturday Night Main Event, Ziggler revealed that his return and matches with Kofi Kingston were actually planned three months in advance, putting to bed the rumours that it was a rushed decision.
During the interview, “The Showoff” also revealed that as his hiatus is over, he is now back with WWE on a full-time basis and will be appearing on TV each and every week.
This week on Smackdown, Kevin Owens turned face after attacking Dolph Ziggler after their main event tag team match against Heavy Machinery. It is believed that a newly babyface Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler will now face off at Extreme Rules.
