Dream Tag Team To Challenge For Championship At NJPW 51st Anniversary Show NJPW

The dream team of Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi is officially set to happen, and they could be about to win gold.

Following their latest clash at NJPW Battle in the Valley, Okada took to the mic and said that he believes it’s time for he and his legendary rival to team up to challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

The titles are currently held by Hiroki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi of Bishamon, who won the titles from FTR back at Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Today, NJPW announced the card for the upcoming NJPW 51st Anniversary show, the main event of which will see Okada and Tanahashi team up to challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

The full card is as followed:

IWGP World Tag Team Championship – Bishamon (c) vs. Kazuchika Okada & Hiroshi Tanahashi

New Japan Cup First Round Match – David Finlay vs. Tomohiro Ishii

New Japan Cup First Round Match – Shota Umino vs Yujiro Takahashi

Lio Rush & YOH vs. Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI

Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi and SANADA vs. Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb & Aaron Henare

Ren Narita, Minoru Suzuki & El Desperado vs. EVIL, Dick Togo & SHO

Tama Tonga, Toru Yano & Satoshi Kojima vs. Will Ospreay & Aussie Open

Zack Sabre Jr. & Kosei Fujita vs. KENTA & El Phantasmo
