Drew McIntyre References CM Punk AEW Debut In Reaction To Punk’s WWE Return Announcement WWE

Drew McIntyre has made reference to CM Punk’s AEW debut in reaction to the announcement of his upcoming WWE Raw return.

WWE today announced that Punk will be returning to Chicago, Illinois when WWE Raw returns to Chicago on March 25, 2024.

Punk last appeared on Raw on the episode following the Royal Rumble, where he announced that he would be missing WrestleMania 40 after suffering a torn tricep during the Rumble match.

Drew McIntyre interrupted Punk where he infamously told Punk that he ‘prayed for this and it happened’, and has been taking many shots at Punk on social media since his injury.

Taking to the platform today after news broke that Punk was set to return to Raw on March 25, McIntyre quoted the announcement with a gif of a fan crying from Punk’s AEW debut at the First Dance in 2021, along with the caption:

Yayyyyyyyy CM Punk is back yipeee!!!!!

McIntyre is set to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on night two of WrestleMania 40 after winning the Elimination Chamber match in Perth.
