Drew McIntyre Update Following WWE Raw Absence

Drew McIntyre Update Following WWE Raw Absence

An update has come to light regarding the status of Drew McIntyre after he didn’t appear on the post-Elimination Chamber episode of WWE Raw.

Drew McIntyre won the Chamber match to retain the WWE Championship on Sunday, but was then ambushed by Bobby Lashley allowing The Miz to cash-in Money in the Bank and beat McIntyre for the title.

The following night on Raw, McIntyre was nowhere to be seen. As per PWInsider, the Scot was backstage at the show but just wasn’t used.

Regarding the WWE Title, Raw set up Miz’s first defence for this coming Monday with Bobby Lashley being his challenger. This was part of the deal between Miz and MVP which saw Lashley attack McIntyre after the Chamber.

Braun Strowman wanted to get involved too, but Lashley beat him on Monday so it’ll just be a singles match for the championship.

The expectation is that Lashley beats Miz after a report from WrestleVotes suggested that The Miz is not planned to be involved in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania in April, but Lashley is.

The best bet right now would seem to be Lashley defending against McIntyre at WrestleMania so McIntyre can have the crowning moment in front of fans that he should have had last year.
