EC3 On Jon Moxley WWE Feud & Potential Future Match (Exclusive)

In an exclusive interview with WrestleTalk on the Wrestle2 YouTube channel, EC3 reflected on his feud with Jon Moxley (then Dean Ambrose) in WWE.

It all fell apart as WWE wanted EC3 to be the babyface, but the fans were naturally getting behind Moxley. Instead of adjusting, Vince McMahon simply decided he didn’t like EC3 because of that and the rest is history.

EC3 didn’t think that the feud was necessarily doomed from the start, just that the lack of creativity led to its demise. He said:

“I thought with some foresight and creativity, it could easily have been… I could have been catastrophically launched into the person I should have been as a smarmy prick heel based on the rightful love and adoration of the fans that have watched this guy for seven years, work on top of the company and go through thick and thin, becoming the resilient person that he is. So with some foresight it could have been great, but everything changes like that *clicks fingers*, nothing matters ever, it all sucks, there’s no narrative. But why do I bring him up? I don’t know, I feel… I don’t want to say I feel tied to him. I respect him so much in his work and his ethic and what he’s been through in life to get to where he was and what he’s done with it and who he is. And we’re very different people, but with very like-minded goals. And I think those are the guys I work the best with. Somebody that I’m not gonna be best pals with trading memes on IG with, but I respect the hell out of and whose work I respect and who puts all of himself into what he does, and I do the same, and there’s that kind of ying-and-yang. The universe is about balance right, so it’s almost like we balance each other out in different ways, I think. Or we could, we haven’t really ever had the chance, but I think definitely that’s something I’d like to explore.”

EC3 did name Moxley among his dream opponents, a list of names that also included John Cena. He pointed out that with him and Moxley there’s already a story there if they were to ever cross paths which could make for very interesting viewing.

When talking about his ‘Control Your Narrative’ catchphrase, he also briefly mentioned some of his frustrations with the WWE system, saying:

“The narrative itself is… it’s ‘Control Your Narrative’, which I look at as ‘Tell Your Story’. There was a time within WWE that no matter what I wanted to do, I mean 17 different people are writing, 18 people are manipulating, and 19 people are twisting this around, and only one person’s opinion matters and then he changes it anyways. So it’s like, you never get to tell your story. You don’t control your narrative.”
