Former WWE Star Claims Company Stole His Ideas WWE

Former WWE star EC3 has claimed that WWE stole some of his ideas to form the basis of Raw Underground and the RETRIBUTION faction.

Raw Underground was a short-lived concept in which wrestlers would fight in shoot-style fights while Shane McMahon watched on. The concept made its way to TV in August 2020 during the pandemic era of WWE.

That same month, the group that would eventually be known as RETRIBUTION made its WWE TV debut, wreaking havoc at the WWE Performance Center.

Speaking on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws show, EC3  made a bold statement over RAW Underground and RETRIBUTION, claiming:

“The two things they stole from Control Your Narrative and my little video! Like, pull back in time and watch my original Control Your Narrative, my original little narrative, and watch RAW Underground and watch RETRIBUTION.

“A bunch of guys in hoods, walking around, real tough, causing mayhem. Where did I see that before? Oh yeah, Control Your Narrative on YouTube.”

Whilst it could be possible that the idea was seen by WWE Creative and adopted, it’s entirely possible that WWE were just using the trope of hooded touch guys being menacing that has been around for quite some time.

EC3 did, however, see the issues that both ideas had when they were ‘adopted’ by WWE and subsequently failed, saying:

“Because the one thing RAW Underground and RETRIBUTION lacked, you know what it lacked? Heart. Imagine some stooge stealing my stuff and pitching it to the funnel that goes through Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Of course, it’s going to be garbage.”
