Eddie Kingston has named the AEW stars that he is glad weren’t a part of the inaugural Continental Classic tournament.
The first-ever AEW Continental Classic is set to conclude at this Saturday’s AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event, when Gold League winner Jon Moxley faces off against Blue League winner Eddie Kingston.
Moxley was victorious against Swerve Strickland and Jay White in the Gold League final, while Kingston bested Bryan Danielson in the Blue League final.
Kingston began the tournament 0-2 with losses to Danielson and Brody King, before defeating Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia and Andrade El Idolo to eventually reach the final.
Speaking to Battleground Podcast, Eddie Kingston reflected on his tough road to the final, but noted that it could have been harder, naming the names he is glad were not in his way.
He said:
“I’m kinda happy people like Will Hobbs ain’t in [the Continental Classic] because that’s a beast. I’m glad Takeshita ain’t in it because he beat the s**t out of me last time. I’m still not happy with the guys that are in it now because they’re beating me up all the time. I really don’t care. I’ll fight whoever it is across from me.”
