Eddie Kingston Recalls Advice From A WWE Hall Of Famer After Being Kicked Out Of Wrestling School AEW

Eddie Kingston has opened up on some valuable advice that he was given from a WWE Hall of Famer early in his career.

On the latest Wrestling with Freddie podcast, the AEW star remembered his beginnings in the wrestling business, including him and his friends paying Ted Dibiase to train them after being kicked out of wrestling school.

Kingston recalled:

“You always hear, ‘You always need the fundamentals.’ Yeah, and I’ll drop a name. He’ll probably never remember this. A little story, I got kicked out of my first wrestling school. Surprise. Me and my old partner Blackjack Monsanto, and a bunch of other friends, Jigsaw, and a couple of other guys. We were so desperate to keep learning that we got our money together, we rented a ring, and paid for Ted DiBiase to come and teach us. [We paid for] a flight, a s**tty hotel, all this stuff. The best advice he ever gave us was, ‘The fundamentals never change. You need them no matter what.’ So for us in the ring, it’s not just the technique that’s the fundamentals. It’s also for the people to understand what’s good, what’s bad. It’s really not that deep of a story. Even if you have two good guys in there, one of them has a little bit of an edge.”

Eddie Kingston is currently embroiled in a feud with Chris Jericho and his Jericho Appreciation Society after beating Jericho at AEW Revolution.

The Jericho Appreciation Society were victorious in the main event of last night’s AEW Dynamite against The Dark Order’s John Silver and Alex Reynolds.
