Remember when Finn Balor debuted on the main roster and was crowned the first ever Universal Champion at SummerSlam 2016? Me too.
You’d be forgiven however for thinking that WWE has completely forgotten that fact, as following his injury in that championship winning match, he has become WWE’s extraordinary man who is extraordinarily pinned.
There is no doubt that he is in the top 5 in ring performers in WWE when given the chance, and so it’s hardly surprising that fans get so frustrated as his booking.
But if sources are to be believed, Finn could soon be getting a “big push”, at least for a short while.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Finn will be pushed in the early part of 2019, even if it’s only for a little while.
The nature of the push was not specified, but you would think it’ll either be as an opponent for Dean Ambrose or for the winner of the Brock vs Braun match at the Royal Rumble.
If it’s the latter, it may be the case that Finn is just a transitional number one contender before they move onto the WrestleMania feuds.
Either way, it’ll be nice to see Finn being able to show his talents for a while.
