Former WWE star Carmella has addressed her uncertain in-ring future, noting that she hopes to return to the ring in WWE.

Carmella’s WWE contract expired in February, almost two years on from her last match.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion previously noted that she had been dealing with drop foot, a post-pregnancy complication after giving birth in November 2023.

Speaking with the New York Post’s Joseph Staszewski, Carmella noted that she feels loyalty to WWE, so would hope to make a return there rather than anywhere else.

When asked about potentially wrestling for another promotion, she said:

“I’m not a ‘never say never’ person. To me, I do feel such loyalty to WWE. I loved my time working there. If I ever went back, I would hope it would be for WWE.

“I would want to go back as Carmella and moonwalk my way out there and be in a WWE ring. I do feel like that would be my home, but I’m not going to say never. Who knows what the future holds.”

Carmella’s last televised match saw her lose to Bianca Belair on the March 6, 2023 Raw episode.

Her most recent in-ring appearance took place at a non-televised house show on March 12, 2023, with Carmella competing in a 10-woman tag-team match.

Another former WWE star has teased a return to ‘ruffle some feathers’, which you can read more about right here.
