Back at the WWE Backlash premium live event in Puerto Rico last month, former WWE star Carlito made a surprise return, aiding Bad Bunny during his San Juan Street Fight against Damian Priest.
Since that cameo, there has been a lot of speculation about Carlito potentially making a return to the company.
That speculation recently amped up, when Carlito had told several independent promotors that he was pulling out of bookings due to re-signing with WWE.
In an update per PWInsider Elite (via WrestlingNews.co), multiple WWE sources have stated that the July 7 episode of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden is being targeted for Carlito’s return to the company.
That show being targeted would indicate that he will land on the SmackDown brand upon his return.
Carlito became an honorary member of the LWO when he aided Bad Bunny at Backlash, so him linking back up with the group on the blue brand makes the most sense.
Carlito was recently spotted in Orlando, doing something with the company.
Carlito would be the first main roster hire made by the company since Vince McMahon’s return back in January.
