Despite being advertised for the show by WWE, former United States Champion Carlito didn’t appear on Raw Legends Night this week, and we may know the reason why.
PWInsider is reporting that Carlito didn’t want to travel to Tropicana Field to just have a two-minute cameo on the show, but would have been interested in wrestling:
“I was told Carlito found out he was just getting a cameo, and said ‘Hey, but thanks, when you want me to come wrestle or do something, I’m happy to do it. I don’t want to travel across the country, just to do a 2 minute cameo.’”
After his release from WWE in 2010, Carlito has hardly appeared on WWE TV in any capacity, with his only appearance coming as part of the induction of Carlos Colon Sr into the Hall of Fame in 2014.
Some have speculated that Carlito may be one of the special entrants in the 2021 Royal Rumble match later this month, but this has not been reported or confirmed by any publication as of yet.
