AEW announced during tonight’s [April 1, 2020] Dynamite, that Jon Moxley will be putting his title on the line in two weeks. Moxley will be defending the AEW Championship against Jake Hager.
The match will be an empty arena, no holds barred match. I guess they are all empty arena matches at this point.
It makes sense to take advantage of the opportunity. Moxley should have an advantage in this kind of match.
Moxley and Hager had an excellent hype package of their recent feud tonight on Dynamite. Moxley really shined as a talker during the video segment.

However, AEW did a great job of putting over Hager as a legitimate threat for the World Title. Guevara and Jericho talked about how they’d be happy with any member of The Inner Circle as champion.
Hager even spoke. He dropped a ruthless aggression comment in the segment.
While Moxley will most likely win, Hager is a good opponent as they are bridging the gap between pay-per-views. Jungle Boy and Scorpio Sky filled this role for Jericho.
Also announced was that the first two matches in the TNT Championship Tournament will also happen sooner than later. Cody vs. Shawn Spears is next week.
Colt Cabana will be going one on one with Lance Archer on the same show as the AEW Championship Match.
It appears these may have been part of the matches AEW has already taped.
