IMPACT Ratings Revealed With NXT Running Opposite

NXT moved to Tuesday night this week and WWE is considering moving the black and gold brand permanently. Part of the rationale is NXT seemingly cannot beat AEW on Wednesdays in the ratings on a regular basis.

While they might not be able to consistently beat AEW, they certainly are making an impact on another wrestling brand. IMPACT Wrestling runs its show on Tuesday Nights.

IMPACT has been drawing critical acclaim of late and making some headlines. They’ve signed a bunch of released WWE stars and featured them prominently on television. This has led to increased viewership for the show.

According to Wade Keller of the PWTorch, IMPACT drew 171,000 viewers on the 8/25 edition of the show. This was the second-highest rating since Slammiversary. With NXT airing opposite the show, IMPACT only drew 102,000 viewers.

IMPACT had been averaging 155,000 viewers in the last eight weeks .with the low coming in at 134,000 viewers four weeks ago. It’s unfortunate for IMPACT who is putting on good television with some very good matches.

With ratings on the rise, it will be interesting to see what IMPACT does if NXT moves to Tuesday’s permanently. Losing 40% of your audience in one week is not sustainable.

On the other hand, I’m sure Vince is happy he finally effectively counter-program someone.
