If you have noticed various iterations of IMPACT Wrestling hashtags going wild on social media tonight, we know the reason why!

While it was announced that the major match between Deonna Purrazzo and Trinity for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship would be sharing the headlining spot with another match at the pay-per-view, the internet has reacted!

The other marquee match which is set to ‘share’ the main event slot will see Alex Shelley defend the IMPACT World Championship against Nick Aldis.

Fans swiftly took to Twitter and getting numerous IMPACT related hashtags trending (including Deonna, Trinity, IMPACT Wrestling and IMPACTonAXSTV) none more popular than #KnockoutsMainEvent.

Fans calling for Trinity and Deonna Purrazzo to close the show on Saturday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view shared their opinions proudly, tagging both the company and President of IMPACT, Scott D’Amore.

D’Amore for his part may be a bit busy to respond, preparing for his own match at Slammiversary and attempting to finalize an ‘to be determined’ tag team partner for his match against Bully Ray and Cody Deaner.

While the pair of Trinity and Deonna Purrazzo had an amazing go home angle to the show, closing out tonight’s episode of IMPACT ahead of Slammiversary on Saturday we’ll really have to just wait and see which match ends up going on last.

Not dissimilar to Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley’s epic battle for the (at the time) WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship which was billed as the co-main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 39, their male counterparts went on to have the final match of the show.

WrestleMania 39 Night 1 closed with the culmination of a the highly anticipated feud between Jimmy and Jey Uso taking on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Unlike the aforementioned example however Trinity and Deonna Purrazzo’s rivalry carries not only significant interest from wrestling fans and more casual observers alike, looking forward to Trinity’s first title bout in IMPACT, but also emotional gravity given recent events.

The pair had recently paired together, making a tenuous partnership based in respect that tonight’s edition of IMPACT saw come to a rapid conclusion.
