LA Knight’s exploding WWE popularity continued on last night’s (July 14) episode of SmackDown.
Though Knight did not have a match on the show, he was advertised for the second match in the ‘Austin Theory Invitational’ to crown the new number one contender for the United States Championship.
While Knight’s three opponents, Sheamus, Cameron Grimes and Rey Mysterio, all cut backstage promos on the show, Knight himself appeared in front of the live crowd for his promo.
Knight, of course, received a huge reaction when he came out, and while the television ratings for this week’s show have not been released, WWE is already seeing big returns from Knight’s segment.
Knight’s 2 minute promo on SmackDown is closing in on 4 million views across WWE’s social media pages in under 24 hours.
Last night’s four-way was won by Santos Escobar, with him set to face the winner of next week’s four-way on the July 28 episode of SmackDown.
Next week’s show will see the return of Roman Reigns, with him and Jey Uso set to set the ‘Rules of Engagement’.
LA Knight’s 2 minutes of TV time from last nights episode of #SmackDown is approaching 4,000,000 views across official related WWE socials in well under 24 hours.
