Indie STAR Signs With NXT

Indie STAR Signs With NXT

Danny Burch, also known as Martin Stone, has been a relatively prominent figure on the WWE Network as part of NXT. Despite this, he was never signed to a full-time contract, but instead, a pay-per-appearance deal that allowed him to compete for other promotions as well as WWE‘s yellow brand.

This was until last month, however, as PWInsider reported that Burch had signed a full-time NXT contract that ensures he can only compete within the realms of WWE.

Yesterday, Burch gave a farewell speech to Beyond Wrestling, a promotion he performed prominently for, alongside his part-time NXT dedications.

In NXT, Burch has spent the recent times of his tenure as part of a tag team with Oney Lorcan. Although they’ve mostly played an enhancement role, often losing out to teams like the Authors of Pain, it seems they could be on the verge of receiving a significant push.

Burch’s new contract, along with last week’s episode of NXT, suggest that the hard-hitting pair look set to be engaging in a program with the Undisputed ERA, likely over the NXT Tag Team Championships.

If that doesn’t work out, there have been rumors circulating regarding the potential introduction of WWE Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships to 205 Live. With both Lorcan and Burch billed at 190 pounds each, this would be a move that would suit all parties.

If 205 Live is to introduce tag titles to the cruiserweight fold, the tag team division would undoubtedly need more bodies in it, with only three or four units already established on “the most exciting hour on the WWE Network“.
